Campbell's Employee Center
CAMDEN, NJ, USA
Reinventing the workplace to support innovation and changing business dynamics.
In Campbell’s efforts to showcase innovation and provide a workplace for the future, we designed a new employee center with amenities that has become the hub of the campus. As part of the project, we created a new workplace strategy which included benchmarking studies, employee surveys, and stakeholder interviews to shape the work environment. The Employee Center received LEED Certification, making the structure and its construction energy efficient and ecologically friendly. It incorporates energy efficient HVAC, water conservation, recycled building materials, and daylight harvesting. This recognition of the environment reinforces the principles, beliefs and promises of the Campbell Soup Company, while rendering it a steward of sustainable design.
DuPont Renaissance Center
WILMINGTON, DE, USA
DuPont set out to develop a new state-of-the-art, high-density master plan, dubbed "Project Renaissance" for their Chestnut Run Campus outside of Wilmington, Delaware. Their vision was to: "Provide new DuPont Chestnut Run competitive workplaces that enable an innovative, sustainable science company to WIN in the 21st Century." Challenged to create an environment that physically and metaphorically embodies DuPont's corporate vision, the entire site is bisected by a long, sinuous pedestrian path that the team embraced as the "Walk in the Park". This path became the vehicle to integrate the new buildings with the existing campus fabric, create a walking campus environment, and dissolve the barrier between exterior and interior spaces, while creating a series of intimate and contemplative landscaped outdoor spaces.
The two office buildings house over 2,000 people in 550,000 SF (51,100 SM). DuPont desired a workplace that functioned as a social hub, fostered innovation and collaboration, responded to organizational demographics that spoke to a multi-generational population, while being sensitive to the environment. The floor plan is organized into neighborhoods for each business unit, separated by shared meeting and commons spaces. In support of this office component, there are large and diverse assembly areas with the main lobby serving as the connector between the coffee bar, conference center, and breakout area. The dining area, servery, outdoor dining patio, and a nearby pavilion for company wide events further reinforce DuPont's commitment to their community.
