Axiom
HOUSTON, TX
Axiom Space’s vision is that commercial infrastructure and innovation in space can offer unique ways to improve life on Earth – challenging the concept of “place” beyond the fundamental concept of gravity. Once completed, the private space station will provide a central hub for research, to support microgravity experiments, manufacturing and commerce in Low Earth Orbit missions.
Axiom Space will be building its new headquarters in Houston at the Houston Spaceport. The new HQ campus will be where Axiom Space plans to assemble, integrate and test space modules, develop flight hardware, train astronauts, perform mission operations and house up to 1,000 employees. Axiom Space will use Ellington Field Airport runways to transport modules and flight hardware across the US and through international vendors as well as transporting shipments from/to various launch providers like Cape Canaveral. Additionally, the proximity to the airfield will benefit Axiom’s Space training program by using their own aircrafts and facilitate easy access for Axiom Space staff, investors and customers.

Boeing Production Facility, Mid-America Airport
MASCOUTAH, IL
The Boeing Production Facility project will be a state-of-the-art manufacturing campus for Boeing. The purpose of this campus will be for the assembly of a classified aircraft. The site of the project is at Mid-America Airport in Mascoutah, Illinois. Construction Documents were completed in April of 2021 and Jacobs continues to work with Boeing on the construction administration phase of the campus.
The Boeing Production Facility campus buildings are grouped into four primary facilities: Main Assembly Building (MAB), Flight Ops and the Delivery Center, Paint and Fuel Calibration and Campus and Site Support. The estimated day-one area under roof is approximately 306,000 gross square feet, not including any future facilities or infrastructure.
Confidential Client Site Expansion Project
Conceived as “The Production System of the Future”, as part of classified programs for a confidential client, the Site Expansion project mission is to accommodate advanced assembly facilities and associated post assembly operations center for future generations of high tech aircraft. The campus expansion includes 3 primary sites a total of 166 acres, 13 Primary building facilities at a total of 2.6 million gross square feet.
The Design and construction will take place in 2 phases started in 2022 through 2030. The condensed project schedule is critical to the client’s success and therefore Jacobs has developed a “kit of parts” strategy to quickly adapt to potential scope, site program, or other changes due to evolving project information and constraints. Additionally, the ‘kit of parts’ strategy will allow Jacobs to design the facilities efficiently with consistent quality. The campus vision has 3 primary considerations; Function, Security/safety and Sustainability.
